A woman claims she sustained neck, back, head and body injuries when a driver rear-ended her vehicle.
Gloria Massey filed a lawsuit Oct. 29 in Jefferson County District Court against Terry Keyes and Lisa Joseph.
Massey claims she drove east on the inside lane of Calder Avenue in Beaumont on Jan. 11, 2009, when Keyes, who drove vehicle owned by Joseph in the same lane, failed to control her speed and struck the back of Massey's vehicle.
In addition to her injuries, Massey experienced great physical and mental pain, suffering and anguish and incurred medical costs because of the collision.
Massey blames Keyes for causing the accident, saying Keyes negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to control her speed, failed to drive in a safe manner, failed to apply her brakes in a timely manner and followed Massey too closely.
In her complaint, Massey seeks an unspecified judgment, plus interest at the legal rate, costs and other relief to which she may be entitled.
Brandon P. Monk of The Monk Law Firm in Port Arthur will be representing her.
Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court, has been assigned to the case.
