GALVESTON - Timmie Clark of Galveston has filed suit against Centerpoint Energy and one of its employees over a two-vehicle collision last year.
Clark claims that William Werner slammed a Centerpoint-owned pickup truck into his 2004 Hyundai Sonata as he made his way through the intersection of 25th Street and Avenue P in Galveston on Oct. 9, 2009, the lawsuit filed Nov. 19 in Galveston County District Court says.
According to the original petition, Clark was traveling east on Avenue P while Werner drove southward on 25th Street at the time of the alleged collision.
The plaintiff blames the defendant for failing to yield the right of way and obey the traffic signal at the intersection and faults his employer for negligent entrustment and not providing proper safety training to the motorist.
Consequently, Clark seeks unspecified monetary damages.
He is represented by attorney Lawrence M. Tylka of League City.
Galveston County 405th District Court Judge Wayne Mallia is presiding over the case.
