After the vehicle in which she rode flipped, a Jefferson County woman filed suit against the vehicle's driver.
Lindsay Worth filed a lawsuit Nov. 18 in Jefferson County District Court against Cody and Lewis LeBlanc.
Worth claims on Oct. 1 she was a passenger in a vehicle being driven by Cody LeBlanc. The suit alleges Cody LeBlanc drove the vehicle in a negligent manner "which proximately caused the vehicle to flip over."
Because of the collision, Worth incurred medical costs, experienced physical pain and suffering and sustained mental anguish, according to the complaint. In addition, she lost wages and suffered disfigurement, the suit states.
Worth blames Cody LeBlanc for causing the collision, saying he negligently failed to maintain a proper lookout, failed to timely apply his brakes, failed to turn the vehicle to avoid a collision and failed to control his speed.
She also names Lewis LeBlanc as a defendant, saying he allowed Cody LeBlanc to drive his vehicle.
In her complaint, Worth seeks an unspecified jdugment, plus interest at the maximum legal rate, costs and other relief the court deems just.
John S. Morgan of Harris, Duesler and Hatfield in Beaumont will be representing her.
Judge Gary Sanderson, 60th District Court, has been assigned to the case.
