Wholesaler in litigation with distributor for violating contract

A Texas corporation has filed suit against the Houston company and the six individuals it claims interfered with its contract to have exclusive selling rights of certain products.

Starco Impex, doing business as Wholesale Outlet, filed a lawsuit Nov. 18 in Jefferson County District Court against Katalyst Distribution LLC.

Starco alleges it should have been the exclusive distributor of certain products manufactured by Katalyst Beverage Corp.

However, according to the complaint, defendants Abraham Baba, Shukri Ganim, Charlie Baba, Johnny Gamin, Nader Ganim, Haitham Baba and John Gamin induced Katalyst Beverage to renege on its contract with Starco and begin selling its products through Katalyst Distribution LLC, an entity of which defendants are members.

"Said inducement by Defendants damaged Plaintiff by depriving Plaintiff of the profits that the Plaintiff would otherwise have received under the contract," the complaint says.

In its complaint, Starco is seeking actual damages, plus costs and other relief the court deems just.

Glen W. Morgan and Chris Portner of Reaud, Morgan and Quinn in Beaumont will be representing it.
