A total of five new lawsuits against insurance companies over Hurricane Ike damage claims have been filed in Jefferson County District Court, Dec. 6-10, 2010.
The following complaints were filed:
John Boutte of 3055 Roberts in Beaumont alleges Capitol County Mutual Fire Insurance denied his claim for damage caused to his property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Capitol denied Boutte's claim after assigning ICA Adjusters to investigate, according to the complaint. Boutte will be represented by Scott Renick of The Renick Law Firm in Beaumont. Robbie Cantue of 4431 El Paso St. in Beaumont alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied his claim for contents, structure, roof, water and wind damages caused to his property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Cantue claims that TWIA denied his claim after assigning adjuster Michael Sterner to investigate. Cantue will be represented by Michael R. Ramsey of The Mostyn Law Firm in Beaumont. John and Connie Lewis of 1325 James Ave. in Port Arthur allege Fire Insurance Exchange, Farmers Insurance Exchange and Texas Farmers Insurance Company denied their claim for contents, foundation, roof, structural, water and wind damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Reginald and Jannetta Ned of 1155 Galway Drive in Beaumont allege State Farm Lloyds denied their claim for structure, roof, water and wind damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The Neds will be represented by J. Steve Mostyn of The Mostyn Law Firm in Houston. Jefferson County District Court case number: A188-937.
Pedro Salazar of 3026 Tyler Ave. in Port Arthur alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied his claim for damages caused to his property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008.
