Man with crushed arm files petition to take deposition before suit

Perhaps a precursor to future litigation, Jonathon Villerreal has filed a petition to take deposition before suit, claiming his hand was crushed while working for Express Personnel Services.

Villerreal, a Port Arthur resident, filed the petition Dec. 16 in Jefferson County District Court.

Court papers show that on June 22 Villerreal was working a job through Express at Worldwide Sorbent Products when his arm was pulled into a piece of machinery, causing serious injuries to his right arm, wrist and hand.

"Petitioner seeks to obtain the deposition testimony of the person at Worldwide Sorbent who can give him information on the machinery ... which caused his injury," the petition states. "Petitioner asks the court to issue an order authorizing his ... examination."

Villerreal is represented by attorney Jill Chatelain of the Port Arthur law firm McPherson, Hughes, Bradley, Wimberley, Steele & Chatelain.

Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court, has been assigned to the case.
