Latest Hurricane Ike-related insurance suits filed in Jefferson County

A total of three new lawsuits against insurance companies over Hurricane Ike damage claims have been filed in Jefferson County District Court, Dec. 13-17, 2010.

The following complaints were filed:

  • Tonya Castille of 5550 Landry Lane in Beaumont alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied her claim for roof and water damages caused to her home after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Castille will be represented by Jason B. Speights and Todd Worrich of Speights Law Firm in San Antonio. Jefferson County District Court case number: D188-955.

  • Sandra Flowers of 3745 Morningside St. in Beaumont alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied her claim for structure, roof, water and wind damages caused to her property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. TWIA denied Flowers' claim after it assigned Sabine Claims Services and adjuster James Haik to investigate, according to the complaint. Flowers will be represented by Michael R. Ramsey of The Mostyn Law Firm in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: A188-978.

  • Cassandra Rawls of 1370/1350 Plum St. in Beaumont alleges Balboa Insurance Company inadequately compensated her for damages caused to her home when Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Rawls will be represented by Rocky M. Lawdermilk of Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: D188-960.
