Claiming injuries in a motor vehicle collision, Thomas Davis is suing Nederland resident Alan Kelley in hopes of recovering monetary damages.
The suit was filed Jan. 3 in Jefferson County District Court.
According to the petition, on Jan. 6, 2009, Thomas and two passengers were traveling somewhere in Jefferson County when Kelley negligently collided with his vehicle.
The suit does not state how or where the incident occurred.
However, Davis does allege Kelley negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, maintain a safe distance between vehicles, control his rate of speed, and apply his brakes in a timely manner.
Davis is suing for his alleged past and future mental anguish, pain, lost wages, impairment and medical expenses.
He is represented by attorney Adam Terrell of the Beaumont law firm Weller, Green, Toups & Terrell.
The case has been assigned to Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court.
