Companies, truck driver sued for automobile collision

Golden Triangle resident Rosie Hubbard-Deshotel is suing two companies and a truck driver, alleging the defendants are responsible for causing an automobile collision.

Hubbard-Deshotel filed her suit against defendants Paccar Leasing, Texas Transeastern and Reginald Whitting on Jan. 20 in Jefferson County District Court.

Court records show the incident occurred Sept. 22 in Beaumont. However, the suit does not state how or exactly where the collision occurred.

Whitting, who allegedly caused the collision, was driving a vehicle owned by the corporate defendants, the suit states.

The suit alleges Whitting negligently failed to keep a proper lookout and apply his brakes in a timely manner.

The plaintiff is suing the for her alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages.

Attorney Paul Higdon of the Bellaire law firm Stern, Miller & Higdon, represents her.

Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court, has been assigned to the case.
