Motorcycle rider crashes into car, sues driver

David Scott Guidry claims Nederland resident Nicholas Weaver turned in front of his motorcycle, causing him to hit the car and crash.

Alleging the driver negligently failed to yield, Guidry filed suit against Weaver on Feb. 10 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the petition, on Sept. 18 Weaver was traveling south on Main Street in Groves when he failed to yield the right of way while making a left turn, causing Guidry, who was also traveling on Main, to crash into his vehicle.

The suit also alleges Weaver negligently failed to keep a proper lookout and maintain control of his vehicle.

The plaintiff is suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.

Houston attorney James Stegall represents him.

Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court, has been assigned to the case.
