Suit filed over rear-end collision

A Jefferson County man alleges the force of rear-end impact was so hard that his vehicle was pushed into a concrete barrier and caused to rollover.

Robert Nickson Jr. filed suit against Port Neches resident Danielle Stroud on Feb. 18 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to his petition, on March 23, 2009, Nickson was traveling on Highway 69 in Port Arthur when he was rear-ended by Stroud.

"The extremely hard impact caused plaintiff's vehicle to hit the concrete barrier and roll," the suit states, adding that Stroud was negligently speeding at the time of the incident.

The plaintiff is suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.

Beaumont attorney Jonathan Juhan represents him.

Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court, has been assigned to the case.
