Dickinson resident sues over auto crash

GALVESTON Dickinson resident Marisela Montes Martinez has filed suit against Richard Andrew Clark over an auto collision last year.

According to a lawsuit filed Feb. 25 in Galveston County District Court, Clark rear-ended Martinez along FM 1266 near E. 34th Street on March 22, 2010.

Martinez says that her vehicle was about to turn onto E. 34th Street when Clark reportedly struck her from behind.

"The defendant, failing to control his speed and failing to timely stop his vehicle, drove his vehicle into the rear of the plaintiff's vehicle," the original petition states.

It also blames Clark for failing to promptly apply his brakes and not keeping a proper lookout.

Consequently, the complainant seeks unspecified monetary damages.

She is represented by attorney Dale M. Carroll of Bellaire.

The case has been assigned to Galveston County 56th District Court Judge Lonnie Cox.
