Lawsuit claims woman ran red light, caused collision

Hampshire local James Bass is suing Vidor resident Sheri Terrell for allegedly disregarding a red light and striking his vehicle.

The suit was filed Feb. 24 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to his petition, on April 1, 2009, Bass was emerging from a private drive with a green light to cross the roadway when Terrell disregarded her red light, entered the intersection and slammed into his vehicle.

In his suit, Bass alleges Terrell negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, obey traffic laws and maintain control of her vehicle.

The plaintiff is suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.

Beaumont attorney Jonathan Juhan represents him.

Judge Gary Sanderson, 6oth District Court, has been assigned to the case.
