Seeking exemplary damages, Sandra Harris has filed suit against H-E-B Grocery, alleging she slipped and fell while shopping at the store nearly two years ago.
The suit was filed March 7 in Jefferson County District Court.
Court records show that on June 29, 2009, Harris was entering the Port Arthur H-E-B when she stepped in a liquid substance and fell.
In her suit, Harris alleges the liquid posed an unreasonable risk of harm to shoppers and that H-E-B negligently failed to warn customers and remedy the dangerous condition.
On top of exemplary damages, Harrison is suing for her alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.
Beaumont attorney Gilbert T. Adams represents her.
Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court, has been assigned to the case.
