SHERMAN - Two Chinese companies are suing a Denton County business owner for more than $1.77 million for past due payments.
Mat-Wah International Enterprise Ltd. and Marvelous Enterprise Co. Ltd. filed suit against Terry Enmon on March 17 in the Eastern District of Texas, Sherman Division.
According to the lawsuit, defendant Enmon is the vice president and one of two managers of Enmon Accessories, which sells, resells or wholesales specialized merchandise to retailers and various organizations.
The plaintiffs produced items such as belts, wallets, key fobs, dog collars and similar leather accessories for Enmon since March 2002. The companies state that Enmon started to fall behind on payments in early 2003, and by December 2007 had accumulated $1.77 million in past due payments.
Enmon is accused of fraud for obtaining the plaintiffs' products under false pretenses, false representations or actual fraud.
"Plaintiffs aver on information and belief that Enmon knew, at the time he made the promises to pay, that Enmon Accessories did not have the money to pay the amounts promised," states the lawsuit.
The Chinese companies are asking for an award of all damages, attorneys' fees, court costs and interest.
The plaintiffs are represented by Dallas attorney Sean T. Hamada.
U.S. District Judge Michael H. Schneider is assigned to the case.
