A Port Arthur man alleges he sustained numerous damages after a driver side-swiped his vehicle.
Abraham Mayorga filed a lawsuit March 17 in Jefferson County District Court against Eugene Martin.
Mayorga claims he drove on W. Port Arthur Road on Nov. 2, 2009, when he came to a stop. Suddenly, Martin, who drove on the same road, slammed into the side of Mayorga's vehicle, according to the complaint.
Because of the collision, Mayorga incurred medical costs, lost earnings and his earning capacity and experienced physical impairment, physical pain and mental anguish, the suit states. In addition, he endured property damages, the complaint says.
Mayorga alleges negligence against Martin, saying he caused the collision.
In his complaint, Mayorga seeks an unspecified judgment, plus interest, costs and other relief the court deems just.
Jonathan C. Juhan of Beaumont will be representing him.
Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court, has been assigned to the case.
