Latest Hurricane Ike-related insurance suits filed in Jefferson County

A total of two new lawsuits against insurance companies over Hurricane Ike related damage claims were filed in Jefferson County District Court, March 21-25, 2011.

The following complaints were filed:

  • Eugene Cameron of 2516 Central Blvd. in Nederland alleges State Farm Lloyds denied his claim for contents, structure, roof, water and wind damages caused to his property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Cameron will be represented by J. Steve Mostyn of The Mosytn Law Firm in Houston. Jefferson County District Court case number: A189-650.

  • Harry LaPointe Jr. of 4721 Shreveport Ave. in Port Arthur alleges Fire Insurance Exchange failed to properly adjust his claim for roof and water damages caused to his property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. LaPointe will be represented by Jason B. Speights and Todd A. Worrich of Speights Law Firm in San Antonio. Jefferson County District Court case number: E189-637.
