Passenger in parking lot fender-bender sues motorist, insurance company

A passenger whose vehicle was hit at movie theater parking lot two years ago has filed suit against the woman who allegedly caused the collision and her insurance provider.

Chasity Thibodeaux filed suit against Kerry Lovett and Unitrin County Mutual Insurance on April 1 in Jefferson County District Court.

Court records show that on April 5, 2009, Thibodeaux was a passenger in a vehicle at the Tinseltown parking lot in Beaumont when Lovett collided into the vehicle she was riding in.

In her suit, Thibodeaux says Lovett's auto insurance coverage was insufficient to cover the amount of damages she suffered, forcing her to file suit.

The plaintiff is suing for her alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.

Beaumont attorney Mark Faggard represents her.

Judge Gary Sanderson, 6oth District Court, has been assigned to the case.
