Companies sued for truck driver's auto collision

A Texas woman is suing two companies and a truck driver, alleging the defendants are responsible for causing an automobile collision last September.

Yessica Rocha filed suit against Digco Utility Construction, Quanta Services and Agustin Torres on March 31 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to her petition, on Sept. 14, 2010, Rocha was traveling west on Saba Lane in Port Arthur when Torres, who was operating a vehicle owned by Digco and Quanta, "negligently backed up his vehicle and struck" her.

The suit accuses Torres of negligently failing to keep a proper lookout, and the corporate defendants of negligent entrustment.

The plaintiff is suing for her alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.

Houston attorney Michael Weinberg represents the plaintiff.

Judge Gary Sanderson, 6oth District Court, has been assigned to the case.

Case No. B189-682
