Capital One sues to recover credit card debt

Seeking to recover what's in Gloria Sullivan's wallet, Capital One has filed suit against the Beaumont resident, alleging she defaulted on her credit card payments.

The suit was filed April 25 in Jefferson County District Court.

In its suit, Capital One says it advanced dollar amounts on a credit card to Sullivan. However, she ceased making payments and owes an unpaid balance of $6,275.87, plus and additional $5,166.48 in interest charges.

Capital One sent a letter demanding payment on Sept. 11, court papers say.

The lender is suing to recover actual and consequential damages.

Carrollton attorney Michael Scott represents Capital One.

Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court, has been assigned to the case.
