Slip & fall filed against Hobby Lobby

While nearing the entrance of the Beaumont Hobby Lobby, Dessi Boykin slipped and fell in a puddle of water.

Alleging the store negligently failed to inspect and maintain its premises, Boykin filed suit May 6 in Jefferson County District Court.

Court records show that Boykin was shopping at the Hobby Lobby on Dowlen Road. While walking to the front door, she slipped in a clear puddle of water.

Boykins alleges she injured her hips, legs, lower back and abdomen in the fall.

The plaintiff is suing for her alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.

Houston attorney Shane McClelland represents her.

Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court, has been assigned to the case.

Case No. D189-955
