Injured Beaumont woman claims Wal-Mart employee pulled her to the ground

A Beaumont woman has filed a lawsuit against Wal-Mart after she was injured when an employee allegedly pulled her to the floor.

Pam Thomas filed suit against Wal-Mart Stores Texas on March 30 in Jefferson County District Court. The defendant removed the case to Eastern District of Texas, Beaumont Division on May 6.

The incident occurred on April 2, 2009, in the Beaumont Wal-Mart as Thomas turned her shopping cart down an aisle where there had been a spill.

She claims a Wal-Mart employee grabbed her arm and jerked her toward the floor, causing serious injury to her shoulder.

The defendant is accused of negligence for failing to protect and safeguard Thomas from unreasonably dangerous conditions and failing to warn of their existence.

The plaintiff is seeking damages for medical expenses, loss of earning capacity, physical impairment, physical pain, mental anguish, disfigurement, interest and court costs.

Thomas is represented by Beaumont attorney Jonathan C. Juhan.

U.S. District Judge Marcia A. Crone is assigned to the case.
