  • Lodsys v. Combay Inc. et al

    Lodsys is a Texas limited liability company with its principal place of business in Marshall.

    The defendants are Adidas America Inc., Bby Solutions Inc., Best Western International Inc., CVC Carmark Corp., Sam's West Inc., Stanley, Black & Decker Inc., The Container Store Inc., The Teaching Co., Vegas.com and Vitamin Shoppe Inc.

    The defendants are accused of infringing on U.S. Patent No. 7,222,078 issued May 22, 2007, for Methods and Systems for Gathering Information from Unites of a Commodity Across a Network and U.S. Patent No. 5,999,908 issued Dec. 7, 1999, for Customer-Based Product Design Module.

    Lodsys is asking the court to issue an injunction preventing the defendants from further acts of infringement and for an award of damages, treble damages, attorney's fees and court costs.

    The plaintiff is represented by William E. Davis III of the Davis Law Firm in Longview and Michael A. Goldfarb and Christopher M. Huck of Kelley, Donion, Gill, Huck & Goldfarb in Seattle, Wash.

    A jury trial is requested.

  • U.S. Patent No. 6,199,173 issued March 6, 2001, for Method for Mapping Environmental Resources to Memory for Program Access;
  • U.S. Patent No. 6,243,838 issued June 5, 2001, for Method for Automatically Reporting A System Failure In A Server;
  • U.S. Patent No. 6,266,721 issued July 24, 2001, for System Architecture for Remote Access and Control of Environmental Management;
  • U.S. Patent No. 6,425,006 issued July 23, 2002, for Alert Configurator and Manager;
  • U.S. Patent No. 6,553,416 issued April 22, 2003, for Managing Computer System Alerts; and
  • U.S. Patent No.6,681,342 issued Jan. 20, 2004, for Diagnostic and Managing Distributed Processor System.

    The plaintiff is asking the court for an award of damages, treble damages, interest and court costs.

    The defendants are Antenna Software Inc., Cengea Solutions Inc., Data Systems International Inc., Environmental Systems Research Institute Inc., Invensys Systems Inc. d/b/a Invensys Operations Management, Truecontext Mobile Solutions Corp., Spring Wireless USA Inc., Zerion Software Inc., Bizspeed Inc., Syclo, Xora Inc., Spria Data Corp., Survey Analytics, The Datamax Software Group Inc., Ventyx Inv., Air2web Inc., General Data Co. Inc., Realtime Results, Millennium Information Technology Inc. d/b/a MIT Systems Inc. and Agilis Systems.

    The defendants are accused of infringing on U.S. Patent No. 7, 822, 816 issued Oct. 26, 2010, for System and Method for Data Management.

    MacroSolve is asking the court to issue a permanent injunction preventing further infringement of the '816 patent and for an award of reasonable royalty, interest, court costs and attorney's fees.

    The plaintiff is represented by Matthew J. Antonelli, Zachariah S. Harrington and Larry D. Thompson Jr. of Antonelli, Harrington & Thompson in Houston.

    A jury trial is requested.

    The defendants are accused of infringing on U.S. Patent No. 7,921,297 B2 issued April 5, 2011, for Random Biometric Authentication Utilizing Unique Biometric Signatures and U. S. Patent No. 793,109 B2 issued Sept. 7, 2010, for Random Biometric Authentication Apparatus.

    The plaintiff is asking the court to issue an injunction preventing further infringement and for an award of damages, costs, expenses, interest, enhanced damages and attorney's fees.
