League City couple sues over motorcycle wreck

GALVESTON A League City man has filed suit over a two-vehicle accident which totaled his motorcycle and injured him and his wife, recent court documents say.

William Palmer claims John Aaron Keller rear-ended them at a League City intersection on May 7. Palmer's wife, Richelle, is also a plaintiff in the suit filed June 16 in Galveston County District Court.

William Palmer claims he was operating his 1999 Kawasaki motorcycle with Richelle Palmer as his passenger westbound on the inside lane just east of the intersection of East League City Parkway and Mar Bella Parkway when the incident occurred.

William Palmer states he brought the bike to a complete stop just behind a 2003 Ford Taurus, which was also stopped at the intersection.

The Palmers then claim Keller, who was driving a 2005 Mini Cooper belonging to Jonathan W. Corbin, violently colliding with the rear of the motorcycle. The plaintiffs say they sustained critical injuries to their necks and backs and that the motorcycle was rendered a total loss.

Keller is blamed for negligently operating the Mini Cooper while Corbin is faulted for entrusting the car to Keller.

The Palmers seek more than $700,000 in damages.

They are represented by attorney George D. Martin of Galveston.

The case has been assigned to Galveston County 122nd District Court Judge John Ellisor.
