Beaumont women sue psychiatrist for making sexual advances

Three Beaumont women have banded together and filed suit against a Beaumont psychiatrist, who allegedly bombarded them with unwanted sexual advances.

Erin Lasalle, Summer Sanderson and Alexandra Zoschke filed suit against Dr. Rajen Desai on July 6 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, all three plaintiffs were patients of Dr. Desai and placed a great deal of trust in him as a result of their physician-patient relationship.

Allegedly, Dr. Desai used that trust to make unwanted sexual advances.

"Defendant intentionally and recklessly attempted to seduce the adult plaintiffs into engaging in a sexual or intimate relationship with him," the suit states. "Defendant knew that his actions would ... destroy plaintiffs' self esteem."

The suit further accuses Dr. Desai of using the women's personal information against them to initiate a sexual relationship.

The plaintiffs claim that they have suffered great emotional distress and wounded pride.

They are suing for exemplary damages.

E. Hart Green of Weller, Green, Toups and Terrell in Beaumont represents them.

Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court, has been assigned to the case.
