$100K slip & fall suit filed against Young Men's Business League

Alleging better seating facilities should have been provided, Sammie Serio has filed a slip-and-fall lawsuit against the Young Men's Business League of Beaumont Texas.

Seeking $100,000 in damages, Serio filed the suit July 19 in Jefferson County District Court.

Court records show that Serio slipped and fell white attending an YMBL fair because of the organization's alleged failure "to properly construct and maintain seating facilities."

The suit does not state when or how the incident occurred.

In his suit, Serio alleges YMBL negligently failed to maintain its premises and remedy the dangerous condition.

The plaintiff is suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.

Houston attorney Joe Williams represents him.

Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court, has been assigned to the case.

Case No. D190-536
