Driver sued for striking stalled vehicle

Beaumont local Kourtney Bruno has filed suit against Fort Worth resident Roberto Padron Jr., alleging he struck her stalled vehicle.

The suit was filed July 20 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on May 28, 2010, Padron was towing another vehicle and traveling north on the Eastex Freeway when he struck Bruno, who was experiencing mechanical problems and stalled in the outside lane.

The suit accuses Padron of negligently failing to keep a proper lookout and failing to keep a safe distance between vehicles.

The plaintiff is suing for her alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.

She is represented by Beaumont attorney Thomas Roebuck Jr. of Roebuck, Thomas, Roebuck & Adams.

Judge Gary Sanderson, 6oth District Court, has been assigned to the case.
