Woman sues one month after wreck

About one month after being involved in a motor vehicle collision, Jennifer Simmons has filed suit against Dorothy Baker the woman she claims caused the wreck.

The suit was filed July 27 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on June 24 Baker was driving a 2009 Dodge Journey and allegedly failed to control her rate of speed, slamming into the side of Simmons' 2010 Ford F-150.

The suit does not state where or how the incident occurred.

The suit faults Baker with negligently speeding and failing to keep a proper lookout.

The plaintiff is suing for her alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.

Beaumont attorney Anthony Malley III of Moore Landrey represents her.

Judge Gary Sanderson, 6oth District Court, has been assigned to the case.

Case No. B190-583
