Corvette slams into Suburban, lawsuit

GALVESTON - Theresa and Sam Lynn have filed suit against Gregory Jarman over a two-vehicle accident two years ago in League City.

Jarman slammed his 2008 Chevrolet Corvette with the Lynns' 2003 Chevrolet Suburban on July 30, 2009, in the 1900 block of Whispering Lakes Drive, a lawsuit filed July 22 in Galveston County District Court says.

The original petition states that the respondent was traveling northbound on the left side of the roadway prior to the collision and failed to give half the roadway to the plaintiffs.

The Lynns claim Jarman hit them head-on, and they allege he was driving intoxicated.

"As a result of the collision, the plaintiffs suffered painful, severe and permanent injuries," the suit says.

Court papers blame the respondent for failing to maintain a safe distance, failing to maintain a proper lookout, failing to stop or take evasion action to avoid a collision and failing to yield the right of way.

Consequently, the complainants sue for pain and anguish, medical expenses and lost wages and seek a jury trial.

Burwell Nebout is representing the Lynns, and Galveston County 122nd District Court Judge John Ellisor is presiding over the case.
