Woman sues over injures sustained in auto collision

Alleging she sustained injuries from an automobile collision, Karla Blum has filed suit against Beaumont resident Bonifacio Chavez-Hernandez.

The suit was filed Aug. 2 in Jefferson County District Court.

Court records show that on Oct. 30, 2010, a collision allegedly occurred because of the "recklessness and carelessness" of Chavez-Hernandez.

However, the suit does not state how or where the incident occurred.

In her suit, the plaintiff alleges the defendant negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, yield the right-of-way and apply her brakes in a timely manner.

The plaintiff is suing for her alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.

Beaumont attorney John Werner of Reaud, Morgan and Quinn represent the plaintiff.

Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court, has been assigned to the case.
