Suit filed over automobile collision

Two area residents are in litigation over an automobile collision that occurred last December.

Joseph Vara filed suit against Sara Giovanne on Aug. 2 in Jefferson County District Court.

In his suit, Vara alleges Giovanne failed to yield the right of way and caused an automobile collision on Dec. 2, 2010.

The suit does not state how or where the incident occurred.

However, the plaintiff alleges the defendant caused the collision by negligently failing to keep a proper lookout and change lanes when it was safe.

The plaintiff is suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.

Beaumont attorney Trenton Bond of Portner Bond represents the plaintiff.

Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court, has been assigned to the case.
