Unsafe lane change results in suit

Orange resident Leeanne Garrett has filed suit against Port Arthur local Bernice Potier, alleging she made an unsafe lane change and struck her vehicle.

The suit was filed Aug. 9 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, the incident occurred on March 8 because of the negligence and carelessness of Potier.

The suit does not state where of how exactly the incident occurred.

The suit only alleges Potier negligently failed to make a safe lane change and keep a proper lookout.

The plaintiff is suing for her alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.

Orange attorney Sandee Hart represents her.

Judge Gary Sanderson, 6oth District Court, has been assigned to the case.
