Beaumont resident Sherry Angelle has filed suit against Chrysler Group and Allen Samuels Dodge, alleging she was sold a $42,000 lemon.
Under the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act, the suit was filed Aug. 16 in Jefferson County District Court.
According to the lawsuit, on Aug. 10, 2007, Angelle purchased a new Dodge Ram 3500 from Allen Samuels Dodge in Port Arthur for around $42,000.
Since then, Angelle has experienced numerous problems with the truck, which include smoke blowing from the truck and low power, forcing her to have the vehicle serviced seven times.
Angelle is suing for actual damages and attorney's fees.
Dallas attorney Craig Patrick represents her.
Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court, has been assigned to the case.
