Wreck with Dodge leads to lawsuit

GALVESTON - Galveston County resident James Edward Williams III has filed suit against a San Antonio man over an auto accident last year in League City.

According to a lawsuit filed Oct. 7 in Galveston County District Court, Daniel Keith Donohue rear-ended Williams as the plaintiff came to a complete stop at a traffic light at the intersection of FM 646 and Walker Street.

As a result, the complainant sustained injuries and vehicle damage, the original petition says.

Williams accuses Donohue of failing to maintain a proper lookout, failing to apply the brakes to the vehicle in order to avoid causing the collision in question and driving said vehicle at a rate of speed greater than that allowed by law.

Tiffany Marie Satterfield, also of San Antonio, is an additional defendant in the case because she entrusted the 2008 Dodge 1500 which reportedly caused the accident to Donohue.

The plaintiff says he incurred expenses for medical care and treatment in the amount of $19,306.

He also sues for physical pain and suffering, mental anxiety and losses of earning capacity and ability to perform customary chores and affairs.

Attorney Kenneth D. Baugh of Houston is representing the plaintiff, and Galveston County 56th District Court Judge Lonnie Cox is presiding over the case.
