Fastenal Co. sued for trucker's collision

Alleging he was hurt in a tractor-trailer collision, area resident Chris Delcambre is suing the driver of the truck, James Bourland, and its owner, Fastenal Co.

The suit was filed Nov. 7 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on Oct. 17 Bourland, while in the course and scope of his employment, backed the tractor-trailer into Delcambre's vehicle.

The suit alleges Bourland negligently failed to keep a proper lookout and apply his brakes in a timely manner.

Fastenal is faulted with negligent entrustment.

The plaintiff is suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.

Beaumont attorney Dan Ducote Jr. of Moore Landrey represents him.

Judge Gary Sanderson, 6oth District Court, is assigned to the case.
