A total of four new lawsuits against insurance companies over hurricane damage claims were filed in Jefferson County District Court, Nov. 14-18, 2011.
The following complaints were filed:
Janice Bailey, as successor in interest to Minnie Sharp, alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied her claim for roof, structural, water and wind damages caused to her home after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. R.K. Hospitality of 50 Interstate 10 North in Beaumont alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied its claim for roof, structural, water and wind damages caused to its property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Teresa and Jesus Figueroa of 2640 Gulfway Drive in Port Arthur allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied their claim for business personal property damage, roof, structural, water and wind damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008.
