Beaumont local Burtis Johnson is suing Vernesse Guidry, who also resides in Beaumont, for allegedly turning and causing a collision while he was a passenger in the vehicle.
The suit was filed Nov. 28 in Jefferson County District Court.
According to the lawsuit, on May 14, 2010, Johnson was a passenger in Guidry's vehicle when she failed to yield the right of way and turned left into oncoming traffic.
The suit does not state where the incident occurred.
Guidry is accused of negligently failing to keep a proper lookout and control her rate of speed.
The plaintiff is suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.
Beaumont attorney Ryan Scott represents him.
Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court, is assigned to the case.
