Intersection collision results in litigation

Area resident Kaitlyn Collins is suing Nederland local Kyle Metcalf for allegedly running a stop sign and striking her vehicle.

The suit was filed Dec. 6 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on Oct. 5 Collins was traveling through the intersection of Franklin Avenue and 12th Street in Nederland when Metcalf ran the stop sign and struck the side of her vehicle.

The suit accuses Metcalf of negligently failing to keep a proper lookout and yield the right of way.

The plaintiff is suing for her alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.

Nederland attorney Rick Williams represents her.

Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court, is assigned to the case.
