Latest hurricane-related insurance suits filed in Jefferson County Courts

A total of three new lawsuits against insurance companies over hurricane damage claims have been filed in Jefferson County District Court, Dec. 12-16, 2011.

The following complaints have been filed:

  • Jesse Ballou Sr. and Ballou's Auto Salvage Wrecker Service of 501 East 13th St. in Port Arthur claim Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied their claim for roof and water damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Ballou will be represented by Paul A. Smith Jr. and Carlos E. Solis of Solis and Smith in San Antonio. Jefferson County District Court case number: D191-457.

  • Herman McElroy of 3112 18th St. in Port Arthur alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied his claim for roof and water damages caused to his property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. McElroy will be represented by Paul A. Smith Jr. and Carlos E. Solis of Solis and Smith in San Antonio. Jefferson County District Court case number: D191-456.

  • Pleasant Green Baptist Church of 3420 St. James Blvd. in Port Arthur alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied its claim for roof and water damages caused to its property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The church will be represented by Paul A. Smith Jr. and Carlos E. Solis of Solis and Smith in San Antonio. Jefferson County District Court case number: E191-458.
