Kelly wins regional High School Mock Trial competition

The Msgr. Kelly Catholic High School team is the winner of the regional Mock Trial Competition.

Caroline Fluke (West Brook) was named Best Advocate, and Aaron Strawser (West Brook) and Allen Brannon (Kelly) tied for Best Witness at the regional Mock Trial Competition.

Students from Kelly High School, West Brook High School and Central High School litigated a mock civil case before lawyers and judges in the regional competition.

Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School won the 33rd Annual Regional High School Mock Trial Competition on Saturday.

They will advance to the state competition in Dallas the first week in March. They were awarded a $2500 scholarship to cover travel expenses to the state competition.

For the regional competition, students from Kelly High School, West Brook High School and Central High School litigated a mock civil case before lawyers and judges at the Jefferson County Courthouse.

Caroline Fluke (West Brook) was named Best Advocate, and Aaron Strawser (West Brook) and Allen Brannon (Kelly) tied for Best Witness. All three students will receive scholarships.

The Jefferson County Young Lawyers Association and Region V sponsored the competition.
