The Texas Police Memorial Bike Trek made a stop in Beaumont on Monday to honor fallen Officer Bryan Hebert of the Beaumont Police Department.

The volunteer group rides to each community in Texas that lost a peace officer in the line of duty the prior year to remember and honor the officer, family members, friends, co-workers, the department and community. The riders expect to cover 1,400 miles to honor 14 officers who died in 2011.

Officer Hebert was killed when a fleeing suspect rammed his patrol car during a high speed chase.

Hebert's parents were presented with a memorial plaque and a flag at the ceremony in front of the Fallen Officers Memorial at the Beaumont police station.
