Home healthcare worker sues for overtime compensation

LUFKIN - A home healthcare worker has filed a lawsuit against his employer in an attempt to obtain overtime compensation.

Claiming violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act, Joseph C. Ray filed suit against Texas Home Health of America on Feb. 6 in the Eastern District of Texas, Lufkin Division.

Ray states that he worked many overtime hours but was not paid for any hours worked in excess of forty per week.

The plaintiff is asking for an award of back pay equal to the underpayment of overtime, liquidated damages, attorney's fees and court costs.

Ray is represented by Lufkin attorney Charles R. Dendy. A jury trial is requested.

U.S. District Judge Ron Clark is assigned to the case.
