Orange County resident Kevin Armstrong has filed suit against Nederland Glass Co. for injuries he received after tripping over some blocks of wood while installing a window.
The suit was filed Feb. 22 in Jefferson County District Court.
According to the petition, on Jan. 11, 2012, Armstrong, while in the course and scope of his employment with Nederland Glass, was installing glass at a Beaumont Wells Fargo. He was standing on a 3-feet high ledge when a coworker placed some blocks of wood behind him.
"When he stepped off of the ledge he stepped on the blocks resulting in the injuries and damages made the basis of this suit," the suit states.
The suit alleges the defendant owed Armstrong a duty to safeguard him from unreasonably dangerous conditions and warn of their existence.
The plaintiff is suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.
Attorney Tom Oxford of the Beaumont law firm Waldman Smallwood represents him.
Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court, is assigned to the case.
