Suit claims driver lost control, caused collision

Beaumont local Ozie London has filed suit against Jimmy Duriso, alleging the defendant lost control of his vehicle and caused an automobile collision.

The suit was filed March 6 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on March 2, 2011, London was driving north on Concord Street in Beaumont when Duriso, who was allegedly driving at a high rate of speed, lost control of his vehicle and caused the collision.

The suit further alleges Duriso negligently failed to take evasive action and maintain a proper lookout.

The plaintiff is suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment and lost wages, plus all court costs.

Beaumont attorney Tom Oxford of the Waldman Smallwood law firm represents him.

Judge Gary Sanderson, 60th District Court, is assigned to the case.
