After killing at least one person in a shooting spree at the Jefferson County Courthouse, the suspect fled on foot and hid in this warehouse a few blocks away. Unconfirmed reports say the suspect has been apprehended and taken to a local hospital with gunshot wounds.
A woman was killed outside the Jefferson County Courthouse in Beaumont at around noon today, unconfirmed reports indicate.
Several others were injured inside the building on Orleans Street, reports say.
The suspect is believed to be a defendant in a sexual abuse trial in Judge John Stevens' court. It is not known whether the trial is currently under way.
The suspect is believed to have fled on foot. He reportedly was hiding in a nearby business, but early reports indicate he has been apprehended and taken to the hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound, although it is not clear how he may have been shot.
