Stephen Eric Boyd has filed a lawsuit against Marissa Ramirez, accusing her of negligence after being attacked by her dogs. The complaint was lodged in the District Court of Harris County, Texas, on March 27, 2025. Boyd alleges that Ramirez's failure to control her dogs resulted in severe physical and psychological injuries.

According to the court documents, the incident occurred on June 12, 2024, when Boyd was taking his morning walk near his residence at 12603 Ravensway Dr., Cypress, Texas. During this walk, he encountered two aggressive Staffordshire Terriers that were unleashed. Despite attempting to avoid them, one of the dogs charged at him, knocking him down and causing significant injuries to his legs and arm. The attack left Boyd with deep lacerations and severe bleeding as he cried out for help. Following the incident, reports were made to both the Harris County Sheriff's Department and Animal Control.

Boyd claims that Ramirez violated the Dangerous Dog Act under Texas Health & Safety Code Chapter 822 and a Houston city ordinance by not containing or restricting her dogs. He asserts that she failed in her duty to ensure safety within their community by allowing dangerous animals to roam freely without warning residents or taking preventive measures. This alleged negligence is said to have caused Boyd's injuries and suffering directly.

In his legal filing, Boyd seeks compensation for various damages resulting from the attack. These include past and future medical expenses, physical pain and suffering, mental anguish, disfigurement, loss of enjoyment of life, and potential lost wages due to his inability to work following the incident. Additionally, he requests exemplary damages for gross negligence on Ramirez's part—arguing that she showed conscious indifference towards the safety of others despite being aware of the risks posed by her pets.

The case is being handled by Ralph P. Manginello from The Manginello Law Firm PLLC representing Stephen Eric Boyd. As it stands before Judge Marilyn Burgess in Harris County’s 164th Judicial District Court under Case ID 2025-20607; it remains to be seen how this legal battle will unfold as both parties prepare for trial proceedings.
