Gulfway Investments has filed suit against Momin Shamin, alleging the Port Arthur resident has defaulted on an $85,000 loan.
The suit was filed March 7 in Jefferson County District Court.
According to the lawsuit, Gulfway Investments loaned Shamin $85,000 on May 8, 2008.
The suit does not state for what purposes the money was lent but does allege Shamin has refused to repay the debt.
Gulfway Investments is seeking liquidated damages in the amount of $85,000.
The company is represented by Chris Portner of the Beaumont law firm Portner Bond.
Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court, is assigned to the case.
