Tire shop blamed for causing collision

Individually and on behalf of her minor children, Kesha Devault has filed suit against Simmons Tire Shop, alleging a tire purchased from the business failed, subsequently causing an automobile collision.

The suit was filed March 16 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on July 24, 2010, Devault purchased tires from the defendant. Later that day, one of the tires allegedly failed, causing her to lose control of her vehicle and crash.

The suit alleges Simmons Tire Shop negligently serviced the vehicle and misrepresented the quality of the goods provided.

The plaintiffs are suing for their alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment and lost wages, plus all court costs.

Attorney Curtis Leister of the Beaumont law firm Reaud, Morgan & Quinn represents them.

Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court, is assigned to the case.
