MARSHALL - Following a 2005 truck crash on Interstate Highway 35, a Marshall resident is suing the truck driver's employer for negligence.
Steve Jordan filed suit against Hobby Lobby Stores Inc. on April 26 in the Eastern District of Texas, Marshall Division.
The collision occurred on Aug. 3, 2010, as Jordan was traveling north on I-35 near Springer, Okla.
Jordan states he was struck from behind by a truck that was attempting to merge onto I-35. The defendant's driver was cited for travelling at an excessive rate of speed at the time of the accident.
The defendant is accused of negligence for travelling/merging at an unsafe speed, failure to yield, and failing to maintain a proper lookout.
The plaintiff is asking the court for an award of damages for medical expenses, loss of income, physical impairment, pain, suffering, mental anguish, loss of earning capacity, court costs, attorney's fees and interest.

U.S. District Judge Rodney Gilstrap is assigned to the case.
