Couple in wreck en route to wedding sue driver

GALVESTON - A McLennan County man claims he and his family were involved in an auto accident in Galveston last Fourth of July, recent court documents say.

Ronnie Wilson and his wife, Pamela, state that Galveston local Connie Rene Henderson ran her vehicle into theirs on Broadway on July 4, 2011.

The Wilsons' lawsuit was filed May 8 in Galveston County District Court.

Their young daughter is a co-plaintiff in the case.

Ronnie Wilson was driving the family's 2010 Ford Sport Trac pickup truck eastbound on Broadway en route to a wedding while Henderson, in a 1999 Infinity G20 passenger Sedan, was westbound prior to the wreck in question.

The original petition shows the plaintiffs were crossing the intersection of Broadway and 8th Street when the defendant made a left hand turn onto 8th Street.

"Henderson broadsided the Wilsons' vehicle on the driver's side causing significant damage to the vehicle and unexpected painful injuries to all of the passengers in the Wilson vehicle," the suit says.

The elder Wilsons explain that the truck was towed away and they had to rent another vehicle in order to attend the aforementioned wedding as well as return home to Riesel.

They add Ronnie Wilson suffered an injury to his right shoulder while Pamela Wilson and the couple's daughter sustained neck pain.

A jury trial is requested.

The plaintiffs are represented by Beard Kultgen Brophy Bostwick Dickson & Squires, LLP.

Galveston County 122nd District Court Judge John Ellisor is presiding over the case.
